National Nanny Recognition Week
To the nannies who feel like family—thank you.
Every September, National Nanny Recognition Week (NNRW) shines a light on the people who quietly make family life run smoother. First celebrated in 1998, the Recognition Week was created to honor nannies for the love, patience, and skills they bring to children every day. Nannies may not stand at the front of a classroom, but they’re often the steady hands behind the scenes—zipping coats, cheering at soccer, practicing spelling words, and giving the best pep talks on tough days.
Why This Week Matters
National Nanny Recognition Week is our chance to say, “We see you.” Being a nanny isn’t just a job—it’s a relationship built on trust. Nannies show up with steady routines, big hearts, and a thousand small details that make a home feel peaceful. From September 21–27, 2025, we invite families to pause and celebrate that care.
Ways to Say “Thank You” To a Nanny
Small, thoughtful gestures mean a lot. Try one (or a few!):
- Kid-made notes or drawings: Ask children to write one thing they love doing with their nanny.
- A memory jar: Each family member adds a favorite nanny moment. Read them together.
- A little comfort: Their favorite snack, a coffee gift card, or a cozy throw for the car line.
- Time off or flexibility: An early-release afternoon or a pre-planned long weekend.
- A keepsake: A framed photo from a special day (first day of school, a park trip, a recital).
- Words that last: A handwritten card sharing the specific ways they’ve helped your family.
